Project Title: Mobile environmental sensing in Princeton
Project Summary: The Environmental Fluid Mechanics Lab at Princeton has been developing mobile environmental sensing packages (http://must.princeton.edu/) that we have used to measure air pollution and temperature across Princeton town and campus. We are now developing version 2.0 of these kits, and we are coordinating with Princeton Transportation and Facilities departments to deploy these packages on universities vehicles to map the campus and town.
Student Roles and Responsibilities: The student will be trained in environmental sensing basics, potentially some Arduino coding, and data analysis; assist in the deployment of various environmental sensors on campus, including configuring these sensors and calibrating them before deployment. They will then be involved in analyzing the data and relating the measurements to the urban properties around it to explain it.
Additional Considerations: The student will attend at least 4 days per week, time can be flexible.
