The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) found no non-compliant items during an unannounced inspection of Princeton University's animal research program that took place on April 26 and 27, 2017.
Animal research contributes to the discovery of knowledge aimed at improving the lives of humans and animals. Princeton University meets or exceeds the regulatory standards established by the USDA and the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care, International (AAALACi) to ensure the humane and responsible treatment of animals. Animals are used in research at Princeton only when no alternatives exist to address specific scientific questions.
